Re: Lenovo ThinkPad Z61p
Same thing on my ThinkPad X1 Tablet. My graphics card according to Windows Device Manager is Intel HD Graphics 515, although I'm not sure that that's the problem. Checked /var/log for the X log, don't remember now if X recognized and loaded the drivers for the card. It did say something about Screen...

Re: Blank screen when using mouse buttons in GDM
Hi Eric. I just get the cursor on a blank screen. It does sound like a problem with GDM. They may be getting reports of this issue, and may be preparing another update

TouchPad support, revisited
Hi all. In a previous post , I wrote about getting my Touchpad's right edge to work like the scroll wheel on a mouse. Part of the solution was inserting a coupl'a lines into xorg.conf. I've upgraded to GhostBSD 10.1, where xorg uses default values instead of consulting xorg.conf, so I can't insert t...

Blank screen when using mouse buttons in GDM
Hello all. The Enter key on my ageing laptop, a Lenovo ThinkPad SL400, has come loose so I had to remove the keycap. The key itself works, sort of -- I sometimes have to hit it a few times for it to register, although I think that has more to do with where I hit it. And in any case, there are other ...

Re: Successful install, unsuccessful upgrade
Hi Eric, thanks for getting back to me. /etc/devfs.rules had group instead of operator , changed it to the latter, and I'm in GhostBSD now, in MATE. As to the upgrade to 10.2, whatever pop-up and the subsequent upgrade did, it wasn't indeed to FreeBSD 10.2, as you might've seen in my Xorg.0.log. Wis...

Re: Successful install, unsuccessful upgrade
Just tried a few minutes ago. When I tried to log on (gdm?), an ominous graphic informed me that "Something has gone wrong," and that I should "contact (my) System Administrator." Here's my Xorg.0.log: [ 54.436] X.Org X Server 1.17.4 Release Date: 2015-10-28 [ 54.436] X Protocol ...

Successful install, unsuccessful upgrade
My laptop -- Lenovo ThinkPad SL400, 4GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Intel Graphics, more details later if needed -- was running GhostBSD 10.1 for a few months. Smooth install, smoother than Windows, about as smooth as Zorin GNU/Linux from what I remember. Those are the two other OSes on my laptop. Also, in contr...

Thanks, have downloaded and will install when things slow down some.
Is it safe to upgrade over 3.5? Of course, I'll back up important files

Re: Issue with Intel Mobile 945GSE Express Integrated Graphi
Seems to be a fairly common problem. Modify your /etc/X11/xorg.conf as follows: Section "Device" Driver "vesa" Then startx. The install, should you try it, should use the vesa driver but just in case your real graphics card insists on inserting itself in xorg.conf, you can go in ...

Re: Touchpad and video support
For anyone else wanting to tweak his or her touchpad, I got it working, thanks to this thread on the FreeBSD forums. In brief: in /boot/loader.conf: hw.psm.synaptics_support="1" in /etc/rc.conf: #conf for Trackpoint and Trackpad moused_enable="YES" moused_ums0_flags="-F 200 ...
