sudo with the password inputted should look like that

If you type something nothing will appear. When you press enter if your password is right it should work like this

sudo is to run service dhcpcd.wlan0 restart as superuser. it asks for your user password.

Was this on the live DVD/USB?

try:

sudo service dhcpcd.wlan0 restart
on the first boot, the same thing could happen.

@strider like @liam and @plumtreed did say TrueOS is the base of GhostBSD and Trident. Project Trident is the continuation of TrueOS Desktop.

I am having the same issue on one of my desktops, I did not found a solution yet. It might be caused by some FreeBSD and TrueOS beta code. If finally find a solution I will release a new iso.

That configuration was done to make the first user have the wheel group as default group
