Re: System Crash During Updates, Now Software Won't Launch

I finally decided to CTRL-C on the upgrade and run it again. This time, I got a process with PID xxxx holds the lock. I killed that process and restarted the upgrade. This time, it completed successfully. I rebooted and all appears to be well.

Re: System Crash During Updates, Now Software Won't Launch

Ok, so I made a little progress. Someone on another forum recommended that since it was in the middle of a package upgrade, that I should try running pkg upgrade -f from a root console (Ctrl-Alt-F2 instead of logging in as user) and rebooting. This should force a redownload and reinstallation of eve...

System Crash During Updates, Now Software Won't Launch

I got a notification that there was a software update, so I clicked it, and while it was running the system crashed and rebooted. I logged back in, thinking everything was ok, but found that I many applications won't launch, including the MATE Terminal, Firefox, Iridium, Software Update, Software St...

Repair Option Would Be Incredibly Helpful

As a new user to all things 'nix, I seem to be running into major issues fairly regularly. I don't know if this is my fault, or something inherent in the system, but so far I've had two issues that forced a full reinstall of the OS, meaning I lose all of my setup, software installed, customizations,...

Re: Unable to Resize Partitions - Upgrade Installation?

So, after doing some research on the FreeBSD forums, I found a set of instructions to try, which ultimately destroyed the file system. So, I ran the installer to see what it would do, and I'm the proud owner of a brand new, shiny install. :( On the positive note, I made the disk 60GB this time, whic...

Re: Unable to Resize Partitions - Upgrade Installation?

Additional info - When I let the system boot, it boots to a command prompt login, and I'm able to log in using my user account, scott. I see the message 'filesystem full', and it says to "try and delete the file /tmp//fish.scott and restart fish". I cant' see that folder to know what I'd b...

Unable to Resize Partitions - Upgrade Installation?

When I installed GhostBSD, I did it as a test install to see if I liked it. I did it on a 25GB partition as a virtual machine. I figured that even though the recommended hardware is 30GB, I would try it, and if I liked it, would expand the partition. Fast forward a month or two, and I found that I d...

Re: How do I import a root certificate in GhostBSD?

Anyone? Surely someone has had to do this. I can't even get to google.com because the system is flagging the traffic as a man-in-the-middle attack because the certificate isn't installed/trusted.
