lost my network card

My network card was working fine in Ghost, but with the latest update (and with a reinstallation with 2021-01-25) Ghost no longer can use my card. The logs show it as re0 with a RealTek 8111 - which is correct - but the logs also show: attaching PHYs failed.

Any thoughts?

Re: Problems with partitioning during install

Attempted to install the latest dev (10.25). Many thanks for the KDE version! However, things did not go well: For the Mate version, it booted up, but failed during the install: udo gbi diskinfo: da0: ioctl(DIOCGMEDIASIZE) failed, probably not a disk. diskinfo: da0: ioctl(DIOCGMEDIASIZE) failed, pro...

Re: Problems with partitioning during install

Success - sort of I threw an old hdd in the computer, and during the install, I gave Ghost the entire disc (so no individual partitioning). Installed like a champ. Of course, I do not know if it installed because I used a hdd this time, or because I gave it the entire disc. Now to get the display wo...

Re: Problems with partitioning during install

Whoops - sun was in my eyes :-)

Anyway, this time there was no output from gbi in the terminal.

I attached my dmesg in case there is something in it that could shed light on this.

Again, many thanks for your time and consideration

Re: Problems with partitioning during install

I made certain that UEFI was the only option for booting (even went under Advanced and made certain that Windows is UEFI only and not CSM). Same issue while trying to install with the Next button never becoming active (no difference choosing ZFS or UFS). I typed in: sysctl -n machdep.bootmethod and ...

Re: Problems with partitioning during install

I have tried it both ways: UEFI only, and Legacy+UEFI exactly the same results. I will try again later today and ensure it is back to UEFI only.

two screen shots, one before I click on auto - showing the free space, and one after I click on auto. The Next button does not become active so I can click on it and proceed with the installation.

Re: Problems with partitioning during install

My hard drive uses GPT. As I stated: 19.10 installs with no problem, 20.04 does not. I have also tried 20.08.05 - same problem. When I try to install it, I have given it 400 gigs, so there is more than enough space. The drive is an nvme. Not sure what else I can try to do.
