Re: Upgrading kernel

Hi. I've installed 19.11. This version uses 12.1-STABLE kernel, while 19.10 uses 12.1-PRERELEASE. I've tried upgrade kernel from source bot lost system. So I've installed again, it is stable now but I cannot do "freebsd-update", because of the error: src component not installed, skipped f...

Re: Can not mount Toshiba external HD

The strange think is: at the Terminal I have access to the external device. With cd I can walk through the drive and open the files. But with the installed file manager it does not work. This was the way I am used to up to now. With me possible to mount the partition is already good. Don't expect t...

Re: Can not mount Toshiba external HD

But exactly what is the file system used on your external HD? NTFS? FAT32? ExFAT? Ext4? Each will has a very different answer. BSD's mount utility is not as sophisticated as the Linux version, you have to specify the file system type yourself. For example, if it's FAT32: sudo mount -v -t msdosfs /de...

Re: Can not mount Toshiba external HD

I trayed sudo mount /dev/sdb /media/usb t o mount a Toshiba external HD 1 TB (my backups). But I got the answer: No such file or directory A stick with 16 GB works this way. Please note that GhostBSD (FreeBSD) is not Linux. sdX is a Linux disk name. On FreeBSD, if you only have one usb attached I g...

Re: Can not install Ghost BSD

At first I tried to install GhostBSD 19.10 on VirtualBox. No success. So I read here that Eric has also issues with Virtualbox. So I tried on metal - also no success. Installation wrote the following lines: hdacc0: unexpected unsolicited response with tag0:00000 It appears that nothing more will ha...

Re: I couldn't see openjdk12 from pkg

Hi. I couldn't see openjdk12 from pkg search and openjdk11 either, only openjdk8 available. On FreeBSD 11.3 I could see both of them. I want openjdk12 to test the new type inference with var. Please help :D I moved back to FreeBSD 11.3 for openjdk11. Bye everyone. I will miss GhostBSD very much :)
