Re: My Feedback of GhostBSD 19.10

Hello Vermilion, Welcome to GhostBSD hoping you enjoy the distribution for a long time. Solaris is not definitely dead, you can follow the OpenIndiana Hipster project which is the continuation of Solaris in free version, but its software library is no longer up to date. GhostBSD is very easy to use ...

Re: Upgrade from 19.04 to 19.10 possible?

Thanks. Should I just for GhostBSD to go from 13-CURRENT to 13-STABLE? And then upgrade to current version whatever that is? EricBSD clarified that an update with the package manager was not possible due to the GhotBSD migration from FreeBSD 13 current (for Ghost 19.04) to FreeBSD 12 stable (for Gh...

Re: How to read system startup message again?

The problem with ntpd has been raised by FreeBSD users and waiting for a durable solution advanced users have proposed to use a by-pass consisting of the uninstallation of ntpd and the installation of chrony which is well synchronized in the startup order of OpenRC services. The question is not whet...

Re: How to read system startup message again?

ntp said it has problem resolving freebsd time server 0.freebsd.pool.ntp.org, after the system successfully boot into MATE, I checked with ps aux and still see ntpd running. The problem is it seemed ntp can't set date time. When I switch between Windows and GhostBSD, GhostBSD's date time doesn't ch...

Code: Select all

sudo rc-update delete savecache shutdown
This command worked. But how to rollback it? :)
sudo rc-update add savecache shutdown :-)

Re: Touchscreen on HP Elitebook

I installed the wacom driver to recognize my touchscreen (neither wmt nor webcamd with evdev recognize it). Although it is not necessary to configure a wacom.conf file in the /usr/local/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ directory, I copied the wacom.conf.example file. The xsetwacom list devices command tells me ...

Re: Touchscreen on HP Elitebook

Yeah, that the parts that I will not be useful, I have no experience with that since I do not have any hardware with a touchscreen. you can look at https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/touch-screen-support.71881/ that might give you help where to start. Thanks Eric, I have already tested the recommen...

If you haven't tried it, perhaps you should select 'VGA' and see if that works.

Re: I need a new graphics card

A priori the drivers of recent graphics cards are regularly updated on FreeBSD even in stable version so you can test GhostBSD live at first to see if your card is well recognized.
