I currently have GhostBSD 26.1-R15.0p8 with a FreeBSD 15.0-RELEASE-p8 kernel.
But about a year ago, I'm not sure exactly, I also had GhostBSD, and every day I found the audio was very low.
The solution was to use the terminal.
To prevent the overall volume from being too low, enter the following in the terminal:
mixer
Then check if pcm = 0.46:0.46 pbk This means the volume is at 46%.
Therefore, enter: mixer pcm=100%
Now it appears like this:

vol = 1.00:1.00 pbk
pcm = 1.00:1.00 pbk
speaker = 1.00:1.00 rec src
