tarahall Is there any proposal to offer Ghost with Cinnamon as a default DE. I know it can be added to Mate & Xfce as an additional DE as I have had those running on a DELL Precision M4800 with Cinnamon added. The Wi-Fi under FreeBSD 15.0 is not reliable although the wireless connection with LMDE Cinnamon works perfectly with no issues.
vimanuelt If you or someone in the community wanted to become the Cinnamon DE maintainer, then it could be added as another GhostBSD flavor. You would need to modify ghostbsd-build (ghostbsd/ghostbsd-build) to add support. As a maintainer you would be required to support all Cinnamon DE related questions and changes. If there is no maintainer, then the desktop flavor will be dropped. We cannot ask Eric to take on more work.
tarahall Thanks for your answer. I'm not really in a position to become a maintainer although in my younger years I may have taken up the challenge. The main problem with FreeBSD on that machine is the wi-fi implementation. I'll have to wait until they release v15.1 (next month) and see if the driver issue has been resolved. The stable release version 15.0 of the wi-fi driver works fine on my DELL Latitude E5500 laptop though.
Edward1978 Mate would be way better if it was QT, but QT us not Gnome 2, so.... They are jumping to Wayland I heard though.
