I'm using Virt-Manager in Debian Linux to run a virtual machine. I have yet to install Ghost BSD.
I'm using the 26.1-R15 image iso to boot and attempt the installation but I never make it to the installer.
The first time I tried, I allocated 4 GB of RAM, and I got an error referencing running out of memory.
So I increased it to 8GB of RAM.
After the first attempt, the VM was no longer booting the live media, to I "inserted" the "CD" into the virtual CD drive, and set it to boot first. I'm not clear if this manual method is the same as setting up a fresh VM.
This worked and the GhostBSD image got much further. I now reach a terminal with "ghostbsd@livecd ~ %" ready for commands.
But this isn't the installer or the live environment, there is an error referencing a Segmentation Fault (image attached).
For screen readers the error reads:
"Segmentation fault at addres 0x1cd924613398
Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting
Please consult the XLibre support https://www.xlibre.net/
Please also check the log file at "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" for additional information.
(EE) Server terminated with error (1). Closing log file.
xinit: giving up
xinit: unable to connect to X server: Connection refused
xinit: server error
"
I'm struggling to share files from the VM to my host, so I can't get a copy of the log. But it ends in the exact same error lines as the terminal error above.
Does anyone have similar issues running BSD in a VM, and what are any quick tip solutions.
Let me know if I should post other details and how to get them. Thank you for your help.
