Hallo,
I'm new to BSD, but have been using Debian since the start of the 90's. I wanted to try Ghost for the first time and up to now its been a bumpy road, let me explain.
KI downloaded the .iso of ghost from your website, all 4652670976 Bytes that is 4.7GB and from Linux using dd to place onto an empty 128GB ssd. I prefer ssd over sd cards or stick, and I don’t use a "Burner" anymore, as the discs in Germany are expensive and not always available. The .iso transfer to disk went smoothly, so I assumed no faults. Upon booting the system it refused. I then opened it up in linux (dev/sdd1) to find it had a 12.5kb start sector which is "Undefinable", and an (sdd2) of 1.34mb fat16 "EFISYS", which of course I don’t use.
So something must have gone wrong with the .iso transfer using dd, "sudo dd if=/home/mike/Downloads/GhostBSD-26.1-R15.0p2.iso of=/dev/sdd bs=4M conv=sync; sync". Now this is not the first time of me using the dd command as we used to, and still do backup our /Home folder and all in there with it. Maybe one of you could shed a light on the problem for me. This does remind me a little of the first version of Debian back at the end of the 80's, with 17, 1.4mb floppy discs, those where the days.
Thanks all
Mike
