FWIW it works great in virtualbox except for a couple annoying issues:
1) Mouse wheel behavior is odd - it works a little then stops, and the up on the wheel seems to behave the same as "back". I tried imwheel but that doesnt seem to change anything. xev reveals the events are actually correct so I guess it is a MATE thing?
2) Audio works fine except it has a lot of microsutter
