@LizziAS I too felt like I would be "polluting" my OS with "Linux stuff" if I installed Brave browser (which I have since replaced with Waterfox because I find the latter much more responsive). I understand the "ewww, gross" feeling. But unfortunately, some "Linux compatibility" stuff is just necessary for the time being. But systemd sure as heck is not included nor functional in any way. Some components appear as "placeholders" but they are inert and non-invasive.
Waterfox, by the way, may not require any of that Linux-compatibility stuff. Give that a shot!
