That gives me an idea to improve security. With FreeBSD/GhostBSD it would be possible to:
- Treating the web as immutable content
- Treating interaction as a privileged capability
- Enforcing the policy at the system boundary, not the app
I'll add the idea to my project queue. It would be great to have a FreeBSD-native, layered design that gives you a true read-only web posture. We would not need to rely on any browser security settings or lack thereof. This would give us a consistent security policy for web use when wanting to just browse securely. Some web sites will likely not allow you to access their content, but if you are concerned about security, then you may not really want to accesss those sites anyway. Just being able to toggle on/off the security layer as needed would suffice for most users.
