Hi I would like to know when or if there will come a GhostBSD based on FreeBSD 15 and if so when to expect?

Perhaps waiting for the next major release would be better if you are looking for the kinks to be removed.

vimanuelt Hi I might be tempted but for now I cant, because I am super dependent on the current machine I use now. But in a month I am able to become a tester and I will gladly help.

Hi sorry for my very late reply I tested the FreeBSD 15 its almost there, only thing I that has to be worked on is the intel meteor lake GPU regards to graphics acceleration else everything else worked on my laptop Asus zenbook 14 oled UX3405MA. And I already reported it and with full logs so from what I can understand the FreeBSD 15.1 really going to be a gamer changer. So I will go for the GhostBSD when the release 15.1 I do have a question how close is the GhostBSD in release cycles to FreeBSD ? I can see the 2 of December FreeBSD 15 and then GhostBSD the is 15th of January 2026 is that a thump of rule ? and one last question is there any news regards when Gershwin desktop will be officially released ?

Here is the Roadmap. Things are pretty much on track. I had a big ol' update just a couple of days ago and it went smoothly and improved speed a little bit.

i don't think there's a rule that the new version has to be released by a certain date, like Ubuntu has. "It's ready when it's ready." The same is true of Gershwin, but more developers have joined to help that along as well. I watched a "preview" of the new desktop from @RoboNuggie recently, and it definitely looks like it'll take some getting used to for those of us who are used to the classic MATE and Xfce desktops.

Hi I never really used much mate, but the GhostBSD theme looks really nice if Gershwin is not ready a the next release in June or Juli, I will jump for the Mate edition. Many BSD users always recommend the Mate so it must be very good on BSD. Personally while I am waiting for graphic acceleration is being worked on regards Intel Meteor lake, I would like to know if the GhostBSD has the hardening options in the iso installer like FreeBSD ? anyway for now I am using Void Linux with XFCE. But I have grown tired of the whole Linux thing. too be honest if Void did not exist I would dust off my Macbook pro and use that until my Asus is fully compatible lol.
