Evolution data server running after evolution removal

I don't use Evolution mail handler.
I found that the evolution data server was active after the evolution package itself was removed.
System Monitor reports evolution addressbook, alarm notify, calendar, source registry processes enabled).
Seems like removing the package evolution-data-server is also required.

I am not entirely sure, but I think evolution-data-server handles things in the background for Evolution.

I believe that to be the case. If you're not using Evolution it may be safe to remove evolution data server. It may also be that other mail programs depend on it, though, except Thunderbird. If BetterBird was ported to FreeBSD it's what I would be using.
