So once I got past the nVidia issue on my Dell E6420, the install went very quickly, and I then also updated. But the touchpad is a problem: the cursor moves very slowly, and I can't scroll other than with the scrollbar on the side. I could find no app in MATE to control it, so I did some searching and found this:
https://forums.ghostbsd.org/d/142-ghostbsd-and-laptops/7
So I tried to follow the instructions and ran xinput list
, only to be told that that package was not installed. I pulled up Software Station and found and installed it, and got this:
~ [2]> xinput list
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ System mouse id=7 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Generic PS/2 mouse id=11 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ System keyboard multiplexer id=6 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=8 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Sleep Button id=9 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT keyboard id=10 [slave keyboard (3)]
which doesn't give me any information about the touchpad. Neither could I find a reference to it in the bios. When I ran Ghost in the past on other laptops, I didn't see this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
