I installed GhostBSD on my HP Elitebook 840 G3. previously i used arch, gentoo and many other linuxes
but there i ABSOLUTE HAVENT SOUND
i tried all of audio devices in MATE Sound Settings, and nothing
just no sound, no more
No sound in GhostBSD

Temporary i fixed it using https://forums.ghostbsd.org/d/413-volume-drop-down-is-blank/3 , but i have volume control on tray blank too, so mate sound settings doesnt works. i want to fix it.
If the chipset is not supported, a driver will need to be developed. As a practical workaround, using a USB audio adapter is often the simplest and most effective solution, as these devices are typically supported by the uaudio driver.
Fixed for me (Dell Optiplex7010) once I up-versioned from 14.01 to 15.01. Now I can select proper hardware in "Sound" settings. 14.01 gave me very poor audio quality but now OK in 15.01. Thanks.
