The noise of the Linux world, and some short-lived experiments and experiences have always led me AWAY from Linux. I know nothing (and care even less) for the political/social/eco-drama that many discuss when it comes to Linux. To me, technological tools should not espouse and express their opinion any more than a hammer or cordless drill.
Every time I try to solve a problem or achieve a goal with technology, where I have applied *BSD (FreeBSD historically), I am pleasantly surprised by the relative ease of implementation.
My needs are usually server/service based - nginx, Apache, MySQL, PHP, python, java - FreeBSD has a history of solidly supporting these platforms.
With GhostBSD I have increasingly explored the potential of virtual machines for testing, and system experimentation.
The cleanliness of GhostBSD and my early testing using GhostBSD in parrallel AND as a cluster node in with FreeBSD systems sealed the deal for me.
