Broader adoption could mean more monetary support, and busier forums with new people. The search feature, on both the forums and the documentation should be very prominent, perhaps made "sticky" for new folks.
You're likely to hear two opinions:
- Too many uneducated newbies will ruin the community
- Many more uneducated newbies will help the community by keeping the rest of us on our toes
