1. - The last update to GhostBSD slowed it down a little bit, but it's still faster and more responsive than Linux (MX-Linux on the other HDD).
2. - Windows behave as they should here in GhostBSD, where in MX they overlap the panel and have to be moved manually to see the panels and to reach buttons in whatever app I'm running. There's no setting in MX to define the size of windows or keep from running amok on top of the panel. Both OSes are running Xfce 4.20, too, so it surprises me that they are far from identical in terms of options and menus!
3. - Evolution behaves better in GhostBSD than in MX-Linux as well. Besides the fact that the window doesn't run amok and mix with the panel, I have more options like changing Evolution's appearance. There's not even an option to delete a message from the inbox on MX. I have to drag it to the trash and then empty the trash. Very strange!
4. - Ungoogled-chromium with a /hosts file is faster and more nimble than Brave Browser in MX-Linux, which doesn't even offer ungoogled-chromium in it's repositories, but is only available as a flatpak or appimage. No thanks!
GhostBSD (Xfce) is simply all-around cleaner and faster than any Linux distro I've ever used, including the "lightweight" ones with just a window manager.
To become the equal of MX-Linux, the only difference that matters to me would be some sort of port of Systemback that does what the cool MX tools do, letting the user make a bootable USB copy of their existing OS, saving all the settings, installed apps, and such.
I'll never go back to Linux.
