firmament img2dev -h
Absolutely tremendous tool, folks. Just the best. So simple, so powerful.
Usage: /usr/local/sbin/img2dev image-file device
🔥 Example:
/usr/local/sbin/img2dev FreeBSD-14.2-RELEASE-amd64-memstick.img /dev/da0
And listen, use da0
, okay? Not da0a
, not da0s1
, none of that nonsense. Just da0
. Trust me, it’s the best way to do it. Everybody says so!
mount_image -h
Incredible command. So much winning with this one!
Usage: /usr/local/sbin/mount_image msdosfs|cd9660 image-file mount-directory [slice]
🔥 Examples:
✅ Mount a CD/DVD image:
mount_image cd9660 FreeBSD-14.2-RELEASE-amd64-disc1.iso /mnt
This is how the pros do it, believe me.
✅ Mount a FreeDOS USB image, slice one (/dev/md0s1
):
mount_image msdosfs FreeDOS-1.1-memstick-3-30M.img /mnt 1
Wow! Just like that, folks. Works perfectly. Some people don’t know this. Now you do!
✅ Mount a FreeDOS floppy disk image (no partitions/slices, just raw power):
mount_image msdosfs fdboot.img /mnt
Old-school. Classic. Some of the best people still use this. Very strong!
umount_image -h
🚨 Error! -h not found in current mount table. Sad!
