Is there anyone daily driving a dual core GhostBSD system?
I am trying to decide if dual core options are actually worth exploring/including in a budget box initiative with a $100 CAD max budget. 5 year max nominal life span. 5c / day computing.
I feel like we are not too long from the phase out of dual core computing.
ChatGPT speculates 2027-2028 … 1000 days?!?
I am looking at budget friendly highly available hardware options for GhostBSD to help monitor the bottom end of minimum system requirements.
Budget?
Think case of beer / less than dinner out / cost less than a a tank of gas / less than a pair of jeans. $0-100. Someone may just offer the hardware for free as their gaming/media needs have far outpaced the tech.
Highly Available?
Corporate cast off. Fleets of thin client and micro PCs. Approx 10 year old iMac, MacMini, MacBook Pro. Frankenstein hobby builds? Maybe. Laptops with broken screens/dead keyboards/dead trackpads.
Lifespan
3-5 more years. It should support the common user tasks for 2-4 years. The typical 2 year diploma program for a student. Maybe even a 4 year degree. Satisfy a student’s need in junior high, high school - 3 year spans. Support a work transition over 1-2 years.
Got an idea that aligns or other sources/considerations?! Let me know.
Thanks Ghosts!
