The prompt in Terminal shows my name and a long auto-generated device name:
john@john-ghostBSD or similar. I'd like to change the text after the '@' to something shorter, like sys234, but I can't find out how on line. The installation instructions show a text box for system name on the screen where I supply my name and password but the actual screen during installation does not show that text box.
I have changed the network ID in the file 'hosts' and a PING to it works but that change doesn't affect the prompt in Terminal.
