Excellent Job with GhostBSD

Post by FiatSpider »

GhostBSD 10.3 has been a very welcome surprise. I had not really considered it since I have been a long time PC-BSD user. When both 10.3 & 11.0 PC-BSD failed to even boot on 2 of my machines I looked elsewhere and found GhostBSD. It has been exceptionally easy to install and configure. Browser, CD/DVD burner, Email, OS updates all work! Even my Lenovo laptop with Intel video is fast and responsive. Can't wait to see what 11 looks like. Very good job guys!

Hi!

Very similarly to the previous poster, I'm a long time PC-BSD/TrueOS user. They're doing a great job creating a rolling release from 12 CURRENT, but I needed an 11 RELEASE system. The installer was flawless and there are lots of great things pre-installed (but not too much!). My highlights:
- +1 for OctoPkg.
- +1 for vbox additions pre-installed (and the current version even!)
- I find it interesting you had git installed but not subversion?

Anyways, I gave a favourable review on Distrowatch and dropped a little in yer tips jar.

Merry Christmas!
