Successfull on Dell Lattitude D510

Post by debguy »

Beautiful quick and easy install. Internet (wired) working out of box, sound too.

minor caveat: had to edit 2 lines into /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf for wifi to work, there is no auto-wifi choice widget in xfce (ie select wifi and enter pass like iPhone would). it would be easy for (someone) to add this in by scripting but no-one has.

minor caveat: if laptop lid closes then opens, screen remains dark (i'm sure there's a fix and i'll find it)

Overall I'm very impressed - i haven't installed any new 'ux in a while, I'm very pleased with Ghost and freeBSD.

Thanks for the feedback, but I'm a bit surprised about your networkmgr troubles.
I had no trouble with it at all and I didn't have to do any editing on my GhostBSD 10 xfce install.
After you installed GhostBSD(11?) you should have a networkmgr icon on the xfce panel.
You can then right click and select your network.
Did you have no icon on your panel after install?
