Hi,
I am wondering if the Firefox released with GhostBSD has the DRM option in Content settings?
I am trying out Devuan GNU/Linux for my better half these days and the Firefox-ESR used has the DRM option in Content settings tab. When checked this sets Firefox to automatically download the Widewine plugin when logged into Netflix. So Netflix works perfectly.
For my self I use FreeBSD / HardenedBSD with Xfce and am not really a GNU/Linux guy. So if there was a FreeBSD based system such as GhostBSD with the DRM option in Firefox that would have been very convenient
Thanks

Sorry, but the widevine plug-in is not available for FreeBSD/GhostBSD.
The only thing I could recommend you try is running the Linux version of Firefox with Linux emulation.
It's ironic because I think Netflix uses FreeBSD servers.

Thank you for your reply @NevilleGoddard
If someone could please help me running a GNU/Linux version of Firefox I would go for a GhostBSD installation.
That would be worth trying. I've previously tried running IceCat, but have been unsuccesful in doing so. So need a guide on how to actually install a GNU/Linux app in /compat/linux/ and then how to execute it. I don't think the FreeBSD manual is comprehensive when it comes to the installation part. I have the linux module running and have installed linux_base-c6.The only thing I could recommend you try is running the Linux version of Firefox with Linux emulation.

Also have a look at this

Good luck. It's a lot of work and hit and miss.

Re: Widewine plugin / DRM Content with Firefox?
Thank you for your tip Neville. It is version 45.9, so I guess it is too old to have the DRM content option. But I could be wrong. I'll check it out.NevilleGoddard wrote:You could try installing the package linux-firefox.
I previously followed the FreeBSD manual when trying to get IceCat working, but I don't think the manual is very comprehensive. For a beginner I think it should have a more specific step-by-step guide with a kind of randomly selected application. But thank you It would be useful to make it work, so I am not giving up yet. If successful I'll be back with a How-To guide. Also have a look at this
