rEFind reinstall/reset [solved]

Post by sdibaja »

good morning.
I am a novice with BSD and GhostBSD.

long story short:
I have a multi boot machine, Mostly Debian distros.

after lots of experimenting with Ghost, but it got messed up, so I deleted the partition and did yet another fresh install.

reinstall was fine. I reconfigured Mate look and feel as I prefer it.
then on the same machine I updated my Debian Testing, then my Debian Sid.
Update GRUB was needed... that was routine and simple.
However, rEFind is not opening on Boot. ...it goes straight to GRUB.
I am able to access and run Ghost using the BIOS - UEFI history

this is not a deal killer but I would like to get the rEFind menu on reboot.

suggestions are welcome.
Peter

how do I edit the boot/efi setting that makes it open?

refind is still installed, I tried that first
