Is there a 'Linixulator' package for GhostBSD?

Post by swarfendor437 »

Hi, I have downloaded a .tar.gz version of SoftMaker Office. (I purchased this back in 2019 at a bargain price and upgraded to 2021 version from 2018 when it came out for Linux. Once extracted, there are two files, one is office2021.tar.lzma, the other is a command file, installsmoffice. I know it is possible to use LibreOffice 7.5 which I installed yesterday, but sometimes I supply documents that must be able to be read accurately in MS Word.
I would also be curious to know if I could run VueScan scanning software (I have the Pro version) and Qoppa's PDF Studio Pro 2021.

Yes. There's a Linux emulator on GhostBSD. It's the linux-c7 package. Check the FreeBSD handbook on how to set it up. There's also another emulator based on Ubuntu focal. It can be found on GitHub.

Hi neville, many thanks - I saw all those linux-c* packages and was unsure which one to install. Many thanks.
