Hi I am trying to make a bootable USB of GhostBSD 10.3 ALPHA2 with Unetbootin, but the image won't load I am using a 2011 Acer 14" notebook and I have also tried to boot on my 2007 Dell Inspiron its saying that the boot image is broken something like this , I have used the OS in Parallels as a virtual machine and I really like it, But I want to run it on Metal, I am using MATE version any help or advice on how to make a bootable image would be much apprciated.

please use 'dd' instead of Unetbootin, like described toward the bottom of the page:

Thank you for the tip ASX - I used the dd command but ran into another problem when I booted from the USB it opened to a blank screen with GRUB in the left-hand corner and a blinking cursor is this normal ? I am looking for the graphical install the same as when I use the OS in a virtual environment, thanks for taking the time to read

hi,
yes, that is normal but immediately after you should see the kernel booting ... and later the desktop should display graphically.

One thing I noticed myself on an old desktop look similar ... it was very slow while booting from a USB stick .. (more than 2 minutes), but after that all went fine.

Sometimes some specific issue may exist in some specific hardware ... try too google for your model and FreeBSD (GhostBSD is based on FreeBSD and offer the same hardware support).

Thanks again ASX, I got the system to boot by using 'Etcher' by resin.io' , a new program for making bootable flash drives it works very well and has a nice minimal interface seems to be a better choice than Unetbootin or other programs the dd command is great but just didn't work for me, this time hope you guys can give Etcher a go.
