Lost the Desktop

Post by fmh »

Hi,

I fired up my GhostBSD 10.1 32bit PC that has been running Mate Desktop since I installed 10.1. I decided to apply updates through The Green Pacman Ghost Icon OctoPkg. It has been weeks since the last time I updated. I did the updates and rebooted. After I rebooted and logged in I was greeted with a blue screen that only writing is in the upper left corner of the screen it says "Activities". If I click that I get a NeXT like Dock on the left side of the screen that I can navigate to my programs and the system.

How do I get the normal Desktop back?

Yea you got the Gnome desktop I had the same problem after an update. On what I have seen it look like GDM default back to Gnome.

In the GDM login screen you can chose the MATE Desktop there is an icon that you can click on to chose the desktop you want to use.
