Hi, just downloaded and installed the last GhostBSD 21.01.20. My rig has an old nvidia card only supported by legacy nvidia-driver-340, but I can't find this binary package (pkg search nvidia returns nothing about 340 driver except "linux-nvidia-libs-340-340.108").
Then I moved into the ports collection, installed kernel sources via "pkg install src" and tried to compile myself, but just after make install it fails with the error: "FAILED Applying extra patch".
So the question is, how should I install the legacy nvidia-driver-340?
How to install nvidia-driver-340
Re: How to install nvidia-driver-340
Good question Ivan,
I just checked on my existing install of ghostbsd stable 12.2 where I am using the nvidia-driver-390 and it is also no longer in packages available and I am sure I have installed it with pkg install. On my test device on Ghostbsd on stable 13 the same, only the current nvidia-driver-460 is present.
Was there a problem with drivers for for -340 and -390 that they are missing in pkg? or can be the current -460 driver be used with the old libs for the legacy graphic adapter?
Please give us an advice, as on my test device I want to use the nvidia too, but I would need the 390 driver version.
TanXs for any advice in advance,
Arnold

Re: How to install nvidia-driver-340
I am surprised, just did a search on the nvidia drivers page for the right version for my graphic adapter and the result is now a driver named NVIDIA-FreeBSD-x86_64-418.113, and this driver is not on packages for 12.2 and 13 available - looks like nvida has changed their drivers?
May this be reason why the legacy 340 and 390 drivers are missing in packages?
Please advice,
Arnold

Re: How to install nvidia-driver-340
It looks like all the Nvidia ports are broken on our side. I will try to get that fix as soon I can.

Should be there now.
Re: How to install nvidia-driver-340
yes, I can confirm that the drivers are visible again, legacy drivers are back on 12.2 and 13, will test the 390 version in the evening.
Many TanXs Eric
