[solved]Virtualbox can't write on virtual disk?-post is outdated

Hi there,

what i mean with my error is, that i installed VirtualBox on GhosBSD and fire it up.

I created a virtual Machine like Linux Mint.

Linux Mint then can't install, as it looks like, it can not write on a dynamically or fixed vdi

I copied over a vm machine (Win7) I created on a different computer and it could start but not shut down, which gave me the indicator it can not write.

So, I chmod -R 777 the virtual machine folder and the vm Win7 worked and shut down nicely but VirtualBox in GhostBSD still can't install any OS.

Anybody any idea?

Thanks for all willing to help ;-)

Dirk

Make sure your virtual disk is SATA and select FreeBSD 64bit. Selecting other OS might cause a problem.

Sorry, i might have not written or emphasized properly.

I meant to install virtual-box on my host system which is GhostBSD ;-)

But i made it now and put another video out what my guess is why it didn't work in the first place, and more important how it will work in case the first installation guide wouldn't work.

Just have to upload it quick ;-)
