Re: Widewine plugin / DRM Content with Firefox?

You could try installing the package linux-firefox. Thank you for your tip Neville. It is version 45.9, so I guess it is too old to have the DRM content option. But I could be wrong. I'll check it out. Also have a look at this https://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/linuxemu-lbc-install.html Good luck...

Re: Widewine plugin / DRM Content with Firefox?

Thank you for your reply @NevilleGoddard The only thing I could recommend you try is running the Linux version of Firefox with Linux emulation. That would be worth trying. I've previously tried running IceCat, but have been unsuccesful in doing so. So need a guide on how to actually install a GNU/Li...

Widewine plugin / DRM Content with Firefox?

Hi, I am wondering if the Firefox released with GhostBSD has the DRM option in Content settings? I am trying out Devuan GNU/Linux for my better half these days and the Firefox-ESR used has the DRM option in Content settings tab. When checked this sets Firefox to automatically download the Widewine p...

Re: Full GBSD Installation from Terminal?

Hello ASX! Thank you very much for your follow up and the additional details. I really appreciate it. Regarding asking about alignment value in the partition editor I think it is a great idea. I understand how time consuming your work must be. I would like to add that the more I have come to underst...

Re: Manual Partitioning for a Gaming / Multimedia PC

Just for the record I now know that there is no +S and +U. SU together stands for Soft Updates and is applied when using the -U switch with newfs(8) . Regarding +SUJ wblock@ over at FreeBSD writes in his SSD disk setup guide why he is not using Soft Updates Journaling, and only SU (newfs -U): Soft u...

Re: Full GBSD Installation from Terminal?

OK. I found this thread http://forums.ghostbsd.org/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=337 where ASX mentions limitations of the partition-editor. So I guess I got my answer there. Because of the "4.0" I have previously overlooked the thread. The reason for asking so specific is that there is some wo...

Re: Full GBSD Installation from Terminal?

Thank you very much for your reply ASX, and sorry for mine being late. Regarding manual installation; good to know. Regarding manual partitioning I have been following this SSD guide provided and written by wblock@ over at FreeBSD: http://www.wonkity.com/~wblock/docs/html/ssd.html In short I did thi...

Full GBSD Installation from Terminal?

Hi, I am wondering if it is possible to install from terminal using the 'c' option at Live-DVD boot instead of using the full GUI interface? I have had some troubles installing from the GUI, and have been trying to find some workarounds where my last try was to manually build up the disk with gpart ...

"Cannot mount volume" - "Installation has failed!"

Hi, I am trying to install GBSD on my old mans laptop, but is unsuccessful in doing so. I have received two error messages during the installation. The computer is an AMD Thurion 64 X2 with a SSD disk. The first message was "Cannot mount volume": Error org.freedesktop.Hal.DeviceUnknownErro...

Re: Manual Partitioning for a Gaming / Multimedia PC

Thanks a lot Keith. I really appreciate it. I'm starting to see the picture now. I was not aware that one could actually choose a " / , SWAP, /home " configuration. Makes things easier, so good to know. Except from a hidden backup partition at the end of the drive, this is the setup I used...
